Our Mission

Nobody should have to choose between growing and staying true to who they are.

We exist to give organisations serving Muslim customers marketing as good as anything available to a mainstream brand, built by people who already understand that customer. So they can compete on equal terms, and win on their own.

Our Founder

I did not study this market. I moved into it.

I built a career in corporate London before I became Muslim. That background is where the commercial instinct comes from, and it is still how I read a business.

Not long after reverting, I moved my family from London to Egypt. We have now been here more than twelve years, and in that time I learned Arabic properly, to the point of working in it, rather than the version you pick up as a visitor.

What supported us through that move was an ecommerce brand I built selling modest fashion to Muslim customers. It was not a side project. I went to the marketplace to source my own fabrics, managed production, carried the stock and funded the marketing myself. I learned search and conversion because every wasted click was my own money. I rebuilt that store until I understood exactly what got it ranking at the top of Google, and which decisions turned visitors into customers across more than fourteen countries.

Other brand owners started asking me to do the same for them. After enough of those worked, I founded Kwayse in October 2019.

Since then we have worked with more than 150 organisations across the UK, Europe, the Gulf, North America and Africa. Ecommerce brands, Islamic institutes, publishers and charities. And increasingly, mainstream brands who know the Muslim consumer market matters and know they do not understand it yet.

That is the part I would want you to take from this page. When a brand asks us how to reach Muslim consumers in London or Riyadh, we are not reporting back from research. We are describing the market we live in, in the language it is spoken in.

– Abdurahman King, Founder of Kwayse

Why Kwayse Exists

Muslim consumers deserve better than generic marketing.

Across more than 150 businesses, one pattern became impossible to ignore. The clients who came to us, stayed with us and grew fastest were selling to Muslim customers. They had sought us out deliberately, because they wanted a specialist agency that would understand their market without it having to be explained.

That understanding is not a nice-to-have. Ramadan and Eid are the two biggest trading and giving periods of the year, and they move eleven days earlier annually. Modest fashion converts on sizing, coverage and photography that generic ecommerce advice ignores.

Customers search in transliterated Arabic with several spellings for the same product. Halal and sourcing signals belong on the product page, not buried in a policy link. In the Gulf, the platforms, the payment behaviour and the language are different again.

Generic agencies spend weeks or months learning that. We start already knowing it. So we built the agency around it, across ecommerce, education, publishing and charity. That focus is what makes the work sharper and the results faster.

How We Work

Our Values.

The standards we run the agency by.

01

Ihsan

To do the work as well as it can be done, whether or not anyone would notice the difference. It is the standard we were taught and it is the one we build to.

02

Integrity

Doing the right thing when nobody is watching, and when it pays less. We would rather lose a project than take money for work we do not believe will return it.

03

Clear communication

No jargon, no acronyms, no reports designed to look impressive rather than be understood. Everything explained plainly, in English, French or Arabic.

04

Honest recommendations

We tell you what you actually need, not what pays us most. Plenty of brands who ask for a rebuild need a conversion overhaul instead, and we will say so.

05

An open door

You speak directly to the people working on your project. No account managers, no layers, no being passed to someone junior once the contract is signed.

06

Founder-led

Abdurahman remains involved in client work and reviews the output on every project. The person whose name is on the company is still accountable for what leaves it.

The Meaning behind the name

كويس

In Arabic, kwayse is what people say when something’s done right.

The name kwayse (pronounced “Qwais”) is inspired by the Arabic word “كويس”, meaning “good”.

It reflects the standard we aim to bring to every project: good thinking, clear communication, careful execution and commercially useful outcomes.
